Fleece boots are something of a treat and very special. They take me back to being a child - my mom bought me some fleece slippers for the winter one year and suddenly I had warm feet all the time (and didn't even need to find anything to put on my feet to go outside as I never took them off!).   That feeling stays with you forever and these days thanks to modern manufacturing techniques and improved ways of treating the raw materials, fleece footwear, boots, shoes and slippers can be a winter staple rather than a rare treat. The most luxurious fleece is of course real shearling or sheepskin which is also the best performing and hardest wearing fleece (Cool Antarctica recommends the Ugg Australia brand). There are now modern faux alternatives that are better than they've ever been and fleece footwear can be had at budget prices in synthetic materials, though the genuine sheepskin fleece still provides the best value for money.
