Next The whalers church at Grytviken is a Norwegian Lutheran church, pre-fabricated in Strommen, Norway, then shipped down to South Georgia and erected near to the whaling station. It was consecrated on Christmas day 1913 though shortly after it was built the pastor lamented "Christian life unfortunately does not wax strong among whalers".
The church is still in use having been repaired and restored in the 1990's though it hasn't had a pastor since 1931.
