Rawindome in the background, and beyond that is the tower of the science building housing domes for viewing and photographing aurora. (4 DEC 1960) -26°F
The station had been built on the snow surface but by the end of the first winter was fully buried under blowing snow with the exception of these two towers.
A later addition was a separate garage building about ¼ of a mile away and that had remained fairly clear of snow. (It is not seen in this photograph.)
