1963 - Sympathy with the surroundings has never really been a priority in designing and implementing base buildings in Antarctica. At least this pale yellow glass fibre ex telephone exchange made a change from the corrugated metal industrial-park type buildings that have been almost exclusively erected since by the British Antarctic Survey.
