Roald Amundsen, Norwegian South Pole Expedition on the ship Fram, 1910 - 1912.
1911 - Roald Amundsen's party leave the South Pole to return to their ship, the Fram. Amundsen was one of the first to winter in Antarctica, one of the first to sail the NW passage, a pioneer of Arctic aviation and one of the first to fly over the North Pole.

1914 - Douglas Jeffrey at a luncheon on the Endurance in the Port of London with possibly family members. Originally part of Shackleton's expedition, Jeffrey chose to stay behind and fight when WW1 broke out. He later joined Shackleton on his Quest expedition in 1921.
