1903 - Ernest Shackleton (l) with Dr. George Davidson, surgeon on the relief ship Morning in Lyttleton Harbour. Shackleton had been ordered home by Scott after suffering from heart and lung conditions and the onset of scurvy during an attempt on the South Pole.
